Mind Control System formed in early 2020 hoping to release their version of psychedelic krautrock and atmospheric ambient music. They began working on this, their debut album, as a two piece utilising electronics, tapes and organic instruments to create a disturbing and hypnotic set of tracks.

The pair had worked in other bands in the past but felt dissatisfied with the difficulties of trying to get others to move beyond their perceived limitations and wanted to remove any barriers and have complete freedom to experiment.

The recording of the album proceeded quickly but was disturbed by both members working on another project, Gnostic Grain. When they recommenced in 2021 to put the finishing touches to the album, they found that the majority of the work had been done and they were happy with the 36 minutes of dystopian, aggressive work and felt the album was balanced and didn't need any more tracks.

Mind Control System describe the album as kraut psych and a true reflection of what they initially wanted to achieve... Since finishing the album, they have begun work with other musicians and have begun recording, what will inevitably be, their next releases.

Dave and Kev met in Manchester playing in bands going back to the 1980's.

Their paths crossed many times over the years before finally ending up together in a psychedelic rock band in the mid 90's.
